SOUTHERN CROSS
CHARITABLE TRUST
On February 9th, 2007, the Australian Taxation
Office granted both Tax Exempt and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)
status to the Southern Cross Charitable Trust.
Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Tax
Exemption is backdated to 1 July 2000. DGR status applies from 1
July 2005.
We can now
accept donations from the general public and KSC members.

All
donations of $2.00 or more to the Southern Cross Charitable Trust
are tax deductible. Donations should be

Donations will help us to provide assistance to
people with disabilities and the disadvantaged as well as other
deserving causes.

Summary Information
Background on the Trust
The Southern Cross Charitable Trust was
established by the Knights of the Southern Cross in June 1969. The
funds under managements have grown from $100 in June 1969 to some
$250,000 in the year 2007. Since its founding, the Trust has made
donations of some $100,000 to various causes including:

The
purpose of the Trust is to provide money, property, or benefits to
or for funds or authorities or institutions approved by the
Commissioner of Taxation or a Deputy Commissioner for the purposes
of any of the sub-paragraphs of Section 78(1)(a)
of the Income Tax and Social Services Contribution Assessment Act
1936-1968.
Donations from the Trust
are decided by the National Executive of the Knights of the Southern
Cross in consultation with the Trustees.
