INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE OF CATHOLIC KNIGHTS
ABUJA, NIGERIA, NOVEMBER 2007
POST CONFERENCE STATEMENT
The 22nd
International Alliance of Catholic Knights (IACK) meeting held at Reiz
Continental Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria from 17 to 22 November 2007
deliberated on a number of issues of concern to the delegates present
and highlighted the following:
-
That since not enough attention is given to the
defence of the rights of women; there should be a more concerted
effort to promote the solidarity and welfare of our women folk in
Africa.
-
That as the incidence of migration, refugees and
the tragic loss of life has increased in recent years there should
be coordinated advocacy directed towards resolving the matter by the
authorities concerned.
-
That the catholic Faith needs to be preserved and
strengthened to resist any attempt on the part of adversaries to
destabilise it and discredit its adherents.
-
That more attention should be given to “Life”
issues and the prevention of abortion, euthanasia and other threats
to the Christian way of life.
-
Catholic Knights ought to use their many and
precious God-given gifts for the benefit of their communities and
their own spiritual development.
