Novena for Pope Benedict XVI

The National Council of the Knights of the Southern Cross is organizing an Australia wide effort to pray for Pope Benedict XVI and his pastoral mission leading the Church, that the Holy Father may be strengthened and uplifted at this time of considerable challenge. The Supreme Knight, Peter Lewis, is encouraging all Catholics throughout Australia to participate in this special novena for Pope Benedict XVI, beginning on Saturday, 15 May 2010, and concluding on Sunday, 23 May 2010 (Pentecost Sunday).

A .pdf file of a special prayer card that will enable participants to print copies locally is attached for their use. The card has been created by the Knights of Columbus, with whom we are joining in this International Support for the Holy Father.

Throughout the Church's history, whenever challenges have come, faithful Catholics have gathered in prayer, offering their supplications and sacrifices to God for specific intentions. Now we are called to unite our prayers for our Holy Father.
